that flies low and slowly, with a very deep buzzing sound. I cut my own hair one night, and the nightmare morphed into the insect now being covered with my hair, which continues. It has always flown to the window above my head, hiding in the blinds or behind the headboard.
Last night, it tried to wake me up, having a man's voice. The most bizarre feature of this dream is that occasionally the insect is accompanied by a very loud whirring noise, a mechanical sound.
Got any ideas about this awful recurring dream?
I have a recurring nightmare that I have an enormous insect in my bedroom...?
Your personal space is being invade in your dreams. Your subconscious must be warning you, that you need to protect yourself from being overwhelmed by other people's negative energy. You need to have more time by yourself to unwind and recover from. The insect may represent a male person in your life that tends to invade your personal space a lot. Life can be rough, but you must take care of yourself and protect your personal space. Meditate/pray, exercise, and eat healthy, so that you will get spiritually strong enough to better protect yourself from the intrusion of other on your personal space and taking advantage of you. You must fight in this world for your own place in it, and take care of oneself.

I once had a dream that there was a roach in my bed. I usually have it after I see a big scary bug. If you notice there's something you're doing before you go to sleep, try to stop it.
I have a recurring nightmare that I have an enormous insect in my bedroom...?
bed room = privacy
enormous insect = unusual situation, person with authority your fear
buzzing sound = bothering situation
man's voice = alert, support, fear conscience
You may be have sort of privacy invasion, and this privacy invasion may be a result of losing control and freedom in your life. Normally, insect is small, but you projected it as "enormous", that in translation, shows how helpless you are in terms of facing this situation. Being buzzed by the sound and the insect shows emotionally you can't do anything to it. The man's voice on the other hand is your fear conscience. This fear conscience may also be your support. In other words, you are feeling helpless to a point that you want this someone you feel fear about to help you.
In conclusion, this recurring nightmare basically reflects your low self confidence in things you can't control. At the same time, you are in lack of support you trust. You may be also having the conflict feeling about things you fear.
Perhaps, you should examine your life and see if anyone who interrupts your life a lot (parents? boss? teachers? ) and yet you somehow can't do anything about it.
